Heritage Park
Less than 1 Acre - Dedicated 2005
23 N. Poplar St.
Heritage Park is a community-built park and a huge source of pride for Sapulpa citizens. The park features include; a covered picnic shelter area, indoor restrooms, and a playground for children of all ages. American Heritage Bank and Sapulpa Main Street spearheaded the development of this community-built park in 2004 with the assistance of architects Leathers and Associates of Ithaca, NY and design assistance from Sapulpa-area elementary school children. The entire town was involved with over 14,000 volunteer hours logged over the nine-day building project. The park, referred to early on as "The Big Build", was built as a "thank you" to the citizens of Sapulpa from American Heritage Bank for their 100th Birthday. The total cost of the project was $284,125, ninety percent of which was provided by American Heritage Bank. The remaining ten percent came from tile sales, the Tulsa Sapulpa Union Railway, and the H.U. & Eva Maud Bartlett Foundation. All funds were used for materials, design fees, and preparation of the site. The project was finally complete in December 2005.
