Marketing/Social Media Representative
Summary
The Marketing/Social Media Representative will promote the City’s image and services to our citizens.
Essential Functions
Responsible for maintaining the City Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other City social media platforms.
Collaborates with the City Manager and Economic Development to fully understand needs for various projects.
Display confidence in his/her interaction with members of the public as well as other staff members.
Clearly communicate with management and share feedback when necessary.
Ability to take a conceptual idea, build upon it, and see it through to completion as well as generate innovative ideas and other possibilities.
Gathers the materials necessary to understand the project and competition in the area such as literature or previous marketing campaigns; analyzes these materials to determine the most effective communications technique.
Based on assessment, drafts and proposes communications campaigns, which may include social and online media, print media, and other multimedia.
Presents design ideas and recommendations to the City Manager.
Creates and coordinates multimedia packages utilized in the marketing of Sapulpa to business fulfillment opportunities and commercial developers.
Composes draft presentations for the City Manager and assists with final product.
Performs other duties as necessary.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This exempt position is both in-office and out in the field.
Physical Demands
This is an office/field position, and it will require extensive walking or other physical duties as needed.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Normal days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, consistent with the current City Hall/Annex hours, however attendance/assistance in events will be required. This position reports to the City Manager and also utilized by the Economic Development Director.
Travel
Intermittent travel is expected for this position.
Required Education and Experience
- Degree/Certificate in marketing or equivalent experience to perform the essential functions of the job.
- Previous marketing, advertising or social media experience
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field.
- Two years handling business/government social media accounts.
