Head Clerk - Sapulpa Aquatics Center
SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Aquatics Supervisor, the Sapulpa Aquatics Center Head Clerk is to operate a clean, safe, organized, and profitable stand and admissions gate, that provides excellent customer service by scheduling and training Clerks staff correctly and addressing any issues immediately. Above all, safety of our staff and guests is of the highest importance.
MAJOR DUTIES:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Must utilize excellent guest service skills to enhance the Sapulpa Aquatics Center experience and meet the needs of patrons with a positive attitude.
- Insist patrons comply with all pool regulations. When rules are broken, explain why the regulation is necessary. Safety is key.
- Act immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of an emergency.
- Activate the EAP when required.
- Participate in special events as directed by the Aquatic Supervisor.
- Maintain amenities and cleanliness of changing rooms, bathrooms and showers.
- Keep Aquatics Supervisor informed of any problems arising with patrons, other staff members, or the facility.
- Arrive to the Sapulpa Aquatics Center 30 minutes before opening of the facility (Noted on your schedule).
- Check for glass around the pool deck and with patrons. If a patron has glass, it is the responsibility of all Sapulpa Aquatic Center staff to SAY SOMETHING to the patron about pool safety, no glass allowed.
- Report all accidents and incidents with an Incident Report.
- Ability to communicate clearly and congenially with patrons about Sapulpa Aquatic Center services, products and programs.
- Hold daily check-in meetings with Sapulpa Aquatic Center Clerk staff to address any questions, daily large groups, Birthday Parties, changes in schedule, or issues relating to the facility.
- Attend staff meetings when requested to do so.
- Attend to specific setup, breakdown, and/or cleaning duties adherent to your shift.
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to follow direction from Aquatic Supervisor or Head Clerk.
Specific Sapulpa Aquatic Center Clerk Responsibility
- Provide excellent guest service while working in a very fast-paced environment.
- Serve food, beverages, or desserts to customers in a very fast-paced environment.
- Proper cash handling including, greet and service guests at the registers, taking orders, and accepting payments, handling cash, debit and credit cards.
- Prepare food such as hot dogs, nachos, pretzels, sno-cones, and fountain drinks, using standard formulas or following directions.
- Prepare bills for food, using cash registers; and accept payment and make change.
- Scrub and polish counters, tables, shelves and food prep equipment and clean all dishes and fountain equipment.
- Responsible for inventory, preparing, and picking up product orders as necessary.
- Stock and restock items as necessary using the (F.I.F.O) First In, First Out method.
- Ensure all sanitation procedures are followed relating to all local licensing regulations.
- Notify the Aquatic Supervisor as soon as possible if you are unable to work due to illness or emergency.
- Wear proper Sapulpa Aquatics Center Clerk uniform upon arrival.
- Be alert and attentive.
- Lead all scheduled Sapulpa Aquatic Center Clerk training sessions.
- No reading or use of cellular phone or smart device while on duty.
- Report to the Aquatics Supervisor any pool maintenance problems, discipline problems, and any safety concerns.
- Maintain all Daily Temperature and Duty Assignment Logs for the season. Immediately inform Aquatics Supervisor of any abnormal readings.
- Maintain current required Food Handlers certifications.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Hold current Food Handlers Permit
- Prior food service and/or customer service experience required.
- Must be able to multi-task and be self-motivated.
- Possesses excellent cash handling skills.
- Qualified candidate will be mature, responsible, dependable who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Standing, stooping, and bending for long periods of time.
- Flexible schedule with required up to 40 hours per week that includes days, evenings, weekends, holidays and special events.
- Supervisory and/or leadership experience preferred.
PROFICIENCY OF EQUIPMENT:
- The Sapulpa Aquatic Center Clerk must show a proficiency in the use and operation of any equipment deemed necessary to complete job duties (including but not limited to):
- Cash register, microwave, broom/mop, fountain beverage machine, sno-cone machine, food warming equipment.
REQUIRED UNIFORM:
- Black shorts (must be at minimum to the finger tips), capris or pants, Sapulpa Aquatics Center Clerk T-Shirt, close toe shoes that secure to the foot (no sandals), hair must be pulled back, nails kept short and clean.
